We recently moved from California to Texas and used Allied. The move went as smoothly as possible especially with our extenuating circumstances. The movers were great at both pickup and drop off.
Then my final per ton rate increased by 7%; when asked why they said pricing was confidential! They said they deducted $800 for our problems, a mere 4% of total. They had my credit card number, and had my container, I felt like I was taken hostage and there was nothing I could do to fight them.
Then I had to argue for weeks to get a few miserable dollars back from the claim department who refused some of my claims for damages due to improper packing. My leather couch and chair were ruined. I provided obvious before & after pictures they say it looks like normal wear & tear. Job was done in a rush by overworked crew that worked 14 hour day & finished at 10pm (we missed our own going away party). Result: terrible packing & damages at the other end which could have been avoided if job was done up to Allied quality standard.
These guys did a great job for us from start to finish. Especially the truck driver (Larry) who is the main man in charge for the move. Larry was in contact with us at all times as far as scheduling the pickup and delivery. He was always right on time. He had a great crew with him in both of our locations who handled our belongings with the utmost care. Thank you Atlas and Larry for making this a stress free move.
This was our 8th international move. Our previous 7 moves went without an itch or a broken glass. This time it was terrible. Service by Atlas SD was choking. They planned two days for packing & loading saying they would finish early on the second day. First day only one guy showed up, told me full crew would come next day. Next day two guys showed up told me all day that more were on the way (a third arrived at 4.30pm). No communication from head office, when I called no one answered and my rep.was on vacation and unreachable.

This is our 4th move in the past (6) months. Atlas moved my wife and I and our kids. Each time we were more impressed with the team of movers assigned to us. We started with the Stormin Norman team and on Saturday had the pleasure of working with the Mike and Fanzi team. They were awesome...neat, careful, and helpful. Moving is a pain, but these guys were amazing.
